I guess that I'll just laugh

Anselan broke a mug this morning and threw his Gator (some John Deere replica) onto my toe. Did I mention that he also got up at 5:45 and it's Saturday?!?  Please tell me that you're kidding me...  No, indeed I am not.  So, when I was finally in the shower and enjoying hot water on the back that I screwed up when I twisted it walking too fast in heels on black ice outside of Sushi Den, I truly thought, "Ah, this moment is one of true bliss, peace, and quiet."  The moment was violently interrupted.  He found the broken mug and was throwing pieces of it against the shower door.  Nice.

Those were the actions that typified the morning.  He woke up too early and was generally in a pissy mood, and since I'm a grouch anyway, I got pissed too.  Getting dressed so that we could go to the library to hear some stories and walk about various rescue vehicles, Anselan was playing in my room.  I have to step over him, toys, and talk about various things while putting on clothes.  Anyway, he threw a vehicle at me when he didn't like my answer in terms of wearing a jacket to the Rescue Vehicle Symposium, so I shut my bathroom door so I could brush my teeth peacefully, and then as the playlist that I made last night was still playing I heard just barely audible, "I could go crazy on a night like tonight, the summer is beginning to give up her fight, and every thought's a possibility."  So, I opened the door and saw those almond-shaped blue eyes and he said, "Mommy, it's Mystery."  Crying is far superior to yelling...

  2. I know that it does, but until he was singing, I was not thinking happy thoughts. Being a parent is truly another full time job.
